DETROIT ? Cadillac dealers are accepting orders now for the all-new, high-performance 2016 Cadillac CTS-V midsize luxury sedan that will launch in late summer.

The 2016 CTS-V starts at $84,990, including $995 destination charge. The base price for the previous-generation 2014 CTS-V sedan was $65,825, including a $925 destination charge. There was no 2015 model.

GM says the 640-horsepower CTS-V, which has a top speed of 200 mph and goes from zero to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds, is the most powerful car in Cadillac's 112-year history.

It is equipped with a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission. A manual transmission is not offered.

Standard features include a carbon-fiber hood, Brembo brakes, 19-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires and matte-finish carbon-fiber trim in the cabin.

Key CTS-V competitors include the Audi S6, BMW M5 and Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG.

The CTS-V launch follows the debut of the 2016 Cadillac ATS-V coupe and sedan, which arrive in showrooms this spring.

The 2016 ATS-V sedan is priced at $61,460, while the ATS-V coupe starts at $63,660. Pricing includes a $995 destination charge.
